Historic Elegance: An Autumn Wedding at Borris House, Co. Carlow

A Historic Carlow Setting

There is nothing quite like the romantic, historic charm of Borris House, especially during the autumn season! When Michelle and Calum approached us to design the florals for their late September wedding, we knew we wanted to create something that perfectly complemented the exposed stone walls, grand staircases, and natural beauty of this incredible Co. Carlow estate. We were absolutely honoured to provide the complete floral styling package for their big day.

Jewel-Toned Bridal Party Florals

To contrast beautifully against the historic backdrop, Michelle chose a rich, autumnal “jewel-toned” colour palette. We designed a breathtaking, organic bridal bouquet filled with lush greenery, deep magenta roses, soft peaches, and pops of rich purple. These autumn tones looked absolutely spectacular against the bridesmaids’ elegant emerald green dresses! We also ensured the whole bridal party looked perfectly cohesive by designing matching buttonholes for the groom and groomsmen, as well as delicate corsages for the family.

Full Ceremony & Reception Styling

At Flowers Touch, we love taking care of every little detail. For Michelle and Calum, we styled the entire venue to create a seamless flow from the moment guests arrived. We started with beautiful floral accents on their wooden welcome sign. Inside the rustic ceremony space, we draped elegant trailing foliage over the historic wooden doors, styled the unity candle table with delicate posies in glass vases, and created bespoke floral chair tags (like the gorgeous “Reserved for the Father of the Groom” seat!).

Moving into the breathtaking, light-filled dining room at Borris House, we dressed the rustic wooden tables with delicate, romantic floral centerpieces that perfectly tied the autumn elegance of the day together.
