Set against the majestic backdrop of Clontarf Castle Hotel, this early March wedding was a true fairytale, blending timeless historic charm with a dreamy floral palette of soft lilac, lavender, dusky mauve, and rich amethyst.

A Palette of Soft Lilac, Lavender & Dusky Mauve
Choosing a colour palette for a historic castle venue is all about harmonising softness with grandeur. To complement the castle’s striking stone walls and warm interior wood, we curated a palette filled with gentle lavender tones, dusty pink garden roses, ruffled purple lisianthus, and deep violet accents, softened by silvery-green eucalyptus foliage.
The resulting aesthetic was romantic, sophisticated, and deeply atmospheric—capturing the fresh essence of spring while adding a touch of regal elegance suited to Clontarf Castle.
The Bridal Party Florals
The morning began with an air of joyful anticipation as the bridal party prepared for the day ahead. Styled with classic Hollywood waves and an off-the-shoulder lace gown, the bride carried a lush, hand-tied garden bouquet designed to feel as though it had been freshly gathered from a spring orchard.
The Bridal Bouquet
A sensory mix of sweet-scented white freesias, dusky mauve roses, purple lisianthus, and bell-shaped lavender blossoms (Campanula). Accents of deep purple ranunculus and statice added rich depth, while sprigs of silver-dollar eucalyptus and baby’s breath created a soft, flowing drape that caught the light as she moved.
Groom & Groomsmen Boutonnieres
The groom and his groomsmen looked effortlessly dashing in classic black tuxedos. Their look was elevated with tailored boutonnieres featuring sprigs of white freesia, delicate lilac statice, and fresh eucalyptus, neatly bound with natural twine to echo the organic feel of the bridal florals.
Sacred Church Styling & Ceremony Decor
The ceremony took place in a beautiful local church, where flowers were used to frame the altar and create an inviting, romantic atmosphere for the vows.
Bespoke Unity Candle Arrangement
Resting gracefully upon the altar table, a sweeping floral runner encircled the central unity candles. As the couple lit their candles, the soft flame illuminated dusty pink roses, lilac lisianthus, white freesias, and delicate foliage, creating a breathtaking focal point during the service.
Statement Altar Pedestals
Framing the steps of the sanctuary were two tall, dramatic floral pedestals. Overflowing with height and texture, these grand displays combined pink snapdragons, white lilies, deep purple carnations, baby’s breath, and sweeping palm leaves, filling the church with rich colour and a subtle, sweet fragrance.
A Castle Celebration at Clontarf Castle Hotel
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party arrived via red carpet at the impressive glass entrance of Clontarf Castle Hotel. Filled with laughter and celebratory energy, the group paused for photographs under the castle gates, where the groom and groomsmen playfully lifted the bride—a moment capturing the fun, infectious joy of the day.
